the .net framework fix worked for me. just wanna report it. it loads the pop-up screen after i does the check.

when I press play now the screen of battlefield window gets white and nothing happens
i hear the music but nothing on the screen only white

I have downloaded Frameworks ALL OF THEM. Installed, reinstalled restarded forward backword. I was able to play 2 weeks and suddonly nothing wont allow me to play - is this somekind of joke? Anyone can suggest ideas whats wrong - Windows 7?

Got the same problem,some kind mod helped me. you gotta look with Hijackthis.log if some program doesnt interfere with P4F

Ugg I just uninstalled, reinstalled and now I can't play at all!

My game does not play yesterday was fine not deleted or installed anything new....so had a read through forum installed both-
NetFramework 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...en&pf=true
.NetFramework 4 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...en&pf=true
An windows is up to date too.
I click "play now" updater starts but only get as far as "Retrieving version information" then nothing!

I Fixed mine myself after uninstalling i noticed that it would only load game after first install then id come back later on or next day try the "Play Now" button and same thing would happen....ti would only get to "Checking instalation" then nothing.
So i figured it must be a problem with my settings.
I went to file where it is downloaded to right clicked on (BFP4f) in download file (Local disc -C) ---> (Program files(86) -->(EA GAMES) -->(Battlefield Plat4Free)--> (BFP4f).
(BFP4f) --> (Property's ) Tab (Compatability) an unchecked "Run this Program in Compatibility mode"
Not sure if someone on this side ticed that box but now unchecked is working fine again XD

Maybe yes & maybe no.. why dont you try? if you have any problems, just install Chrome & download the game..

I tried that but it still doesn't work.
I uninstalled it and re-installed it but it still does work and does the same thing.
