Cursor Trapped In Game

Hello guys, thanks for taking the time to read this.
I have noticed a certain issue when playing battefield play4free, and it is most annoying. When I start up the game it starts up on the custimization menu. It's great, and if i need to do something on the computer aside from the game I can click home key and open up internet, turn on music, etc. But when I jump into a game, it seems as if my cursor is stuck inside the game, I cannot just press the home key and open something else up. The only way I can get out is to exit the server and back to custimization. Is there any way I can get my cursor out of the in-game without having to exit the server? I am running windows 7 and I do not have the start a fullscreen option inabled.

Alt+Tab.

If you have no other windows, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open task manager.

I've had that slight issue, where my cursor would show in-game; all I had to do was press esc and resume game.
