Attachments are gun specific or for all in that class?

I can't seem to find the right answer to this question:

When I buy a red dot sight for one of my guns, is it just for that gun or for all the guns of that type in that class? I ask because I bought a m16 pack a few months ago and the attachments that came with it are able to work on my other guns such as my scar, aek, and g3.

So I'm pretty much asking if I have to buy multiple sights or just one? Seems pretty expensive to buy a bunch cause they're not cheap.

Attachments are available for all weapons in a particular category, so an Assault Rifle Holosight will work on ALL Assault Rifles, and a long range Sniper Rifle Scope will work on ALL Sniper Rifles.
