Which map is best for Recon?

If you're using the SV-98, I would recommend Basra, Karkand, and maybe even Sharqi. Oman and Dalian aren't the best maps for the SV-98.

It depends what weapon you're using:

Long-range bolt actions: Oman, Dalian, Karkand, Mashtur.
Not-so-long-range bolt actions: Karkand, Mashtur, Basra. <<-----SV-98
Semi-autos: Karkand, Mashtur, Basra, Sharqi.
Full-autos: Basra, Sharqi.
Shotguns, Basra, Sharqi.

I'm going to slightly disagree here...

I believe Oman and Dragon Valley are best for beginner sniper as it allows newbies some breathing space, or camping space if you insist.

Just hang between C and D flags on these maps and you will succeed. Or troll B on Oman and A on DValley. Some massive killing sprees are possible there.
Another great sniping spot is on Oman, when your team is holding only the A flag and enemy is rushing in from C - get on hills between A and C and killkillkill.


Karkand and Sharqi are great maps for fast, quick scoping recon, but you really need to know every nook and cranny there, every passage, sweet spot, or you get owned fast.
Better play as Medic or Assault, learn the map and then go recon on it.


edit: Regarding gear - get M24 as soon as you can, then GOL, then L96. Everything else is crap. Semi-auto and auto snipers used to be great before the grat nerf-pocalypse of Dec.20th but now they're mostly worthless scrap metal.

But the best for me is either Sharqi or Basra.
Come at me, I go close range with M95/M110.

All of them. Depends on the weapon and your playstyle. Just like the other three classes.
