Okay so i play a lot of 24/7 oman servers cause thats my favorite map. but lately the infantry fighting vehicles on that map have been turning into aircraft fighting vehicles. ill take off in my MI-28 an a LAV will be sitting outside the buildings at d right near my RU base, and that thing basicly has 5 rapid fire shots that reload fast. ill be taking off and then boom 56 heath then i try to make it back to base to heal and he just shoots me down. And most of the time its an engineer. are LAV's to overpowered?

no because you really need to be accurate to get it right + you could have just shot him

Helo's have the ability to take out ANY armored vehicles with AT Missiles, and not even have to aim in the process... oh, but wait, Helo pilots use them on infantry... lol

Every other player on the map would say that your heli is op when there is no APC around to attack it, so it depends on the perspective.
I like being both, the APC and the heli, and you can definitely get rid of the APC if you fly the right way.
Or one of your teammates (or you) could keep tracking that vehicle until some RPGs or Hellfires found the right way....

He's on ru team, ru AT missiles don't work remember? And if the lav is hiding behind a wall it's pretty hard to Hit it with 6or more regular missiles since it has cover. If I got taken out that way I'd go transport chopper and ram him to death(or just c4 buggy but idk if you have c4)

Ramming APCs with vehicles dont work.
Proof: Fly one off the cliffs at D in Dragon Valley and see how much health you loose.

Your best bet is to fly low and use your own cover to fly to B, then come up behind D and take it out.

APC shells do 81 damage to unboosted helicopters, thats 10 shots required to kill, 9 to initiate self destruct. To fire 10 shots, an APC needs about 10 seconds, to fire 15 rockets and 2 hellfires takes you 4, and that amount of firepower is enough to take down 2 apcs and a tank plus any infantry surrounding them. (that would be if the hellfires actually worked)

But your little chopper there that can instakill the APC is not..

Some think they are safe from bullets as they dont see pilot health in the vehicle, only heli health.

Tip4All: Hate that heli? Shoot at the cockpit. He will eventually die and you can steal the vehicle.

learn to play, dont go on same paths always be creative!! and if u really suck with copper try TOW infront of RU base...

Run around. Cap flags. Get into cover. Hide from vehicles. Help your frienly engineers by tagging vehicles. Never complain about anything being OP again

AT missiles still do 40 damage or so and kill all the surrounding engineers.
Of course you'll get in trouble while trying to attack the LAV from the front and its FOV, that's why you should fly really low until you're a bit away...

He's RU, HAVOK's Anti-Vehicle Missile deals 40 damage to vehicles.

I dont fly. I have practiced shooting the flying things down with armor since the OB.
I beginning to be quite good at it. Mediocre heli pilot usually looses against me when the situation is head to head. Still, this often requires some skill to perform and basicly every

It is true that the APC has gained some ground but thats more against the tank than a heli.

any heli with HEAT missiles can take APC's without much effort, even HAVOC but you will have to use the rocets in combination. If you fail to position yourself
well and fly around without a worry of the world you will get shot down.
It takes usually atleast 2 clips of 25mm to pull this off.. for me atleast, but i rarely miss
and I take the advance to account mostly without fail.

the thing which really counts on CQC against assault helicopter is the AT missile.
It eats almost half of the helos hitpoints and in combination with the turret takes down
HAVOCs and Apatches in mere seconds. This manouver requires skill too and is nearly
impossible to pull off if the apc driver has not pre planned he's positioning.

All things concidered, the AA apc drivers are still rare. I have honed the skill from the beginning and chose to be a tanker / apc driver from the very start.

People often get thease "wakeups" when they get shot down
and your not the first to write about the matter... probably not the last aither.

In every vehicle scenario I think, there is this false sense of security especially when you
get used to pwning around with your heavyduty machine of war.

The funny thing is that chopper can be shot down by a lone sniper on a roof top.
so why not something which is armed with an autocannon with that very function
in mind?

In oman I casually shoot jets down with the apc, so to me, wondering heli is no biggie.
but keep in mind... I have done this (and only this) for one year. I dont know how to fly anything yet.
