Before I read this the only way I had to counter enemy fighters was to do the endless looping spiral, and since I fly with mouse and keyboard I usually end up either tiring out or losing. Great to hear. Yeah, evasion tactics are very important. Keep practising. ![]() (10-04-2011 09:31 AM)Pinehearst Wrote: Because of your guide Johnny I was able to do this. Hehe very nice.

Hey, I was wondering for the USMC jet facing the battlefield, how do you utilize the thruster so you won't have to almost dive into the water?
I'm assuming that it is a jump jet? |

You don't mind to make a full map showing the positions of the AAs and the range so that we would know the clear spots throughout the map.
Oh yea you forgot something... Kamikaze. And the BEEEEEP warning comes with a rapid clickity clack sound too. |

It's a vertical thruster made to hover from ground to air or air to ground. Hey Johnny! Make a guide on the F-35 JSF's thrusters! |

Keep holding your nose up as you take off from that one, better still kick it about a bit on upmax and get the nose straight up as u take off, ull look like a pro then ![]() the reason no one makes a guide for it is because no one uses it, its a deathmode, u cant go from hover to fly in less time than it takes for me to do a 180 and gun you down while you flail about going omg omg think about it - if u cant fly the field without AA taking u down at full speed, how long do u think youd last if someone sees you go into hover out there? Sure in BF2 there was always the tale of super-mr-hover-chancer Vs dumb-team getting a rack of kills, but I assure you it was the exception

I´ve been thinking about a AA position map. There are a couple reasons why i didn´t do that yet. But i might do that later. Kamikaze??? Do you have any idea how much the goverment payed for your jet? The MIG-29 (RUS) was bought for around $29 million and for the F35 (US) $150 million!!! NEVER kamikaze your jet into something on purpose! It might be worth 7 kills, but your team will lose one of the strongest and fastest vehicles they have for a while. And you might face the risk that some unskilled pilot takes your jet when it respawns. You should: - spot every enemy that you see. Jets, tanks, APC´s, choppers, snipers, etc. - take down enemy jets - take out the AA´s - try to prevent the enemy team from taking more flags - support your team with an attack if they call for air support - and a lot more Just try to stay alive, don´t be a fool and support your team as much as you can. About hovering... it´s cool, but it makes you such an easy catch. Be smart and make sure that you take off as fast as possible. So you can hunt down the enemy jets before they will get you. For those who are waiting for the new update... ![]() I´m currently working on new stuff, collecting data, info and images. So if you are ready for the next level. Then stay close! |

We know that there are many more (bomber) jets in bf2. But how you are sure that those are coming to bfp4f?

@Johny: Well, what about hovering to kill an AA gun? It's quite good imo, since you can move like you'd have a helicopter. Difficult to master tho.

dont climb so high then, over about 600m youll go into stall mode untill your height drops back, and if that means you fly off the map with the controls froze, then just use it as a lesson and be careful next time

(17-04-2011 07:23 PM)ShadeyTex2.1 Wrote: You don't mind to make a full map showing the positions of the AAs and the range so that we would know the clear spots throughout the map. it depends a lot on which AA gun is currently being used really. the B gun is very bad against low flying, if B is up i usually tend to go low, the A gun isn't that great against the opposite side of the map (the RU side) due to it being blocked by a wall in front of it, D is bad against the RU side (wall behind it) but very good against every other area (both low and high). I don't really care that much about the AA's anymore though, at first i whined about them a lot but nowadays i just try to keep in mind that there's always an AA gun up when the enemy has a certain point. If the opposing team has A & B, i'll take out the B gun first & go for A afterwards, it gives you a minute or two of free flying time and it gives your team an advantage as choppers will be able to move about more freely in the meantime as well. I've sort of made it my job to constantly make sure the AA guns are down, there's always someone that will get killed by one of your bombs, or a chopper, or something in the air, will get pissed off & man an AA gun after they respawn, so it's always a good thing to keep those blown up as much as you can. I personally rarely get killed by an AA gun anymore when in a Jet, when i do die its because of a good enemy pilot, a lucky pilot, or just me being stupid and crashing into a tree while performing some acrobatics. ^^ |

This is an awesome guide. Chock full of good tips and information. Over and over again I was just like, "Wow. What a cool strategy - I had no idea you could do that." Been playing Battlefield for a long time, and always wished I could fly like the pro's. Thanks for sharing your insight and taking the time to make all this stuff.
