This is my maximum angle for bombing Dodgy

you can bomb at any angle, even 90 degrees if you want precision pin point delivery. Keep practicing looking at the face cam and soon youll realise its just a matter of working out the arcs, leads and time delay, then angle becomes second nature.

Bombing is a very opportunistic thing and the small maps and fast moving battlefronts meants its easier to adjust the timing to the angle or situation, rather than the other way around, cuz by the time youve done your cuban or bank or whatever you do, its all moved on and then thats 2 wasted runs exposed to AA, A2A and every RPG on the map.

Simply the flatter you are when you bomb, the earlier you drop compared to whatever HUD markings you go by, and more distance and spread your bombs will have (a1 for splash kills on moving infantry) or the more angled you are, the closer and more focussed the impact zone will be (on yer head tanker)

if youre worrying about getting into the right angle to drop youll miss potential dropzones, but keep at it, youll get there Smile

I know that thx Wink

The only things that I don't know is which graduation in the HUD = 45°
Can you help me ?

I will try to find an answer with the battlerecorder of BF2.

nice guide, with the prices of joysticks these days i think i might finally replace my (extremely) old MS precision pro joystick, been playing battlefield games with it since 1942 + desertcombat (oh those were the days).
think i might get one of those extreme 3d pro's like on that picture of yours (i think?), they seem to be pretty cheap these days & look pretty good.

This is the best guide I have read here. Posted on my bookmarks.

Thanks for the flare boquet tip. This is good because AA sites can't get both shots off in time to hit me with AB.

Is it because I'm Black?

Before I read this guide, the first thing that happened to me when flying a jet was crashing into a building approx. 100 meters away from take off. I also sucked at bombing so much that I managed to bomb myself and hurt no one in the process...but thanks to this guide, that shouldn't happen anymore! Thanks ^_^

wooo couldn't help myself & went out to buy an extreme 3d pro ^^
man this is a world of difference compared to my old ms precision pro, can't wait to try it out!

edit, i can't seem to get the hatch to work trough joy2key though, i've loaded your profiles & it all seems to be running, but ingame nothing happens when i click the hatch in any direction, is there anything i've missed other than loading the profiles & letting it run in the background?
the strange part is when im in windows, i can actually control my mouse cursor with the hatch, so i figure it is working as it should, guess i'll try & fiddle around a bit more.

edit2: still can't get it to work :/
i'm using JoytoKey 4.6 though (bought it for 7$), not sure if that makes any difference, but it seems as if joytokey isn't processing both config files simultanously, it seems to work on the profile that i click, if i click profile B the hatch moves my cursor in windows, if i click profile A it stops letting me control my cursor with the hatch.

Well, there are a couple things that could cause the issue.
1. A current bug that doesn´t allow you to use mouse look on views outside the vehicle. So with cockpitview it should work.

2. Left-Ctrl need to be set as control for Mouse Look.

3. Make sure that both configs (3DProA & 3DProB) are running.

4. Make sure that tab joystick 1 is selected.

If you still have issues, then read the: installation.txt file.

thanks for the reply, but yeah i found the problem.
the script you included (the bat file) was only starting joytokey once (im on win7 64bit if that makes any difference, i dont think it should though but yeah), i then manually started it another time, selecting the B script for the second one & now it works like a charm, cheers again <3

Very nice tutorial here man.

At first I thought it would be like one of those fail tuts that barely teach anything about survival and engagement but after reading most of it, it's about the same stuff I do to be good at jets. It doesn't just teach about basics, it teaches about a lot more. Perfect Tut.

Your efforts on this are well appreciated, good job man.
Perfect tut for the newbies that somehow flip their jets on take off.

Some really nice illustrations OP, mind if I borrow one of them to illustrate 'how to aim' and add some amazing Paint skills to it? SWEET, ty.

Basically, the harder you dive, the higher up on the 'bar' you need to aim. If you fly in with next to no angle, you can use the bottom line of the HUD. Also, even if you come in at a high angle (a dive), you can do a quick flick upwards to spread the bombs a bit more.

Wow, never thought of it for BFP4F, always used height in BF:1943 to dive down on planes below, but yes, this makes sense. Wink

Also, great guide, to whoever wrote it! Big Grin

No problem. Yw! Big Grin

Well, i might add it to version 1.5, although i´m personally never really focused on the bombing reticule, but on feeling. It can help people who just started piloting jets, but it is definitely a skill that need to be learned by practising (a lot).

Very helpful stuff, I believe I've seen you in game before. Before I read this the only way I had to counter enemy fighters was to do the endless looping spiral, and since I fly with mouse and keyboard I usually end up either tiring out or losing.

But now that I learn the split S, and pull two of them in a row I can shake most of the enemy fighters I see.
