I started as recon. Now I want to try as assault, but the game won't let me. I create a new soldier but does not log when I click "play now". Why can't try another type, like assault or medic?

Maybe you already have more than 2 soldiers (w/o buying more slots)? If you doesn't already have assault class soldier, then it's the only reason.

If you've successfully created a new soldier, launch the game and then hover the "Home" button in game client to change soldiers.
