Your post here made me check the files again and I think the reason havoc's hellfires don't work correctly might be because they have the wrong "explosionMaterial" value. The Apache uses "33" which is Missile_Hellfire while Havoc uses "7005" which is Glass_AttackHeli (?!).

Here are some relevant lines from material file regarding damage done by "Glass_AttackHeli" against other materials:

PHP Code:
// soldier body: x1 = full damage (400)
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 24
MaterialManager
.damageMod 1

// 1014 = attack_heli_armor: x0.1 = 40 damage (400 x 0.1)
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 1014
MaterialManager
.damageMod 0.1

// 1019 = transport_heli_armor: x0.1 = 40 damage
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 1019
MaterialManager
.damageMod 0.1

// 4300 = tank_armor: x0.1 = 40 damage
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 4300
MaterialManager
.damageMod 0.1

// 4350 = tank_tracks: x0 = no damage on wheels
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 4350
MaterialManager
.damageMod 0

// 4500 = jeep_body: x0.1 = 40 damage
MaterialManager.createCell 7005 4500
MaterialManager
.damageMod 0.1

Nothing i didn't knew

Nope, change damage type/material.

Current material is not the same as Apache's Hellfire.

It's not the vehicles(now), its the Hellfire material. It used to be the US APC armor material's fault.

Yeah, I regret buying it too.

Stand-off barrel could use a buff in my opinion. It`s advertised as doing +4 to range so you`ll expect more from it...

On some guns it`s totally useless; e.g a MG36 with vipermags.

And i found out that it will make my VSS with vipermags actually doing worse damage with the standoff than without it.

Close-In > Stand-Off

If its pre-dec, it might be usefull but now days, its rare to see kills beyond 60m(non SR)

Bump, I wish I had found this before

http://bfp4f.alchemical.ch/en/_/75d25607...a8b3f856c0

Basically all I thought the barrels were doing was wrong. Stand-off barrel especially. Isn't in this example supposed to extend the medium range up to 50m and carry along the damage range that far ? But according to the charts, the 22-26 medium range damage of mp7 not only doesn't go up to 50m with this barrel, but it actually ends around the 20m mark. This is loco.

Well, stand-off barrel is still good for SMGs in mid-range combat, since it makes the damage drop smoother. For other classes, it just doesn't worth it. Cheap close-in barrel is better for extending range.

I expected stand off barrel to retain mid range values damage up to the 50m mark, but in reality after 30m I am hitting long range damage regardless of barrel.

Only at seeing the charts I grasp that barrels only affects DISTRIBUTION of damage within their scope range, but that they do not CARRY damage along.

So for mp7 18-22dmg mid range damage will end around 20-25m regardless of barrel, but the description in the shop reads : STAND-OFF BARREL : "Extends the medium combat distance of the gun"

According to PfTools :

Initial range 26-24
Mid range 22-18
Long range 12-8

But instead if it was

Initial range 26-18
Mid range 20-12
Long range 12-8

Then one would promptly see that the middle range won't end at 18 but at 12. The description in the shop paired with PFTools numbers creates confusion. I should had looked more attentively to the charts instead.

i think its just making a mess of the distance calculations - the stand off barrel is still good in some areas imo even if its coming up a little short as the calculations show, id rather have it than nothing

blah blah blah

It sure is better than nothing, but the point is that it doesn't do what it says it should because you get long range damages in the stand-off barrel area of effect, thus not creating a longer mid range area as the numbers portray.
