Just play on servers which are located close to your living location. For example if you live in Japan, don't go play on servers in Europe etc etc. You can have a nice gbit connection at home but if the connection has to travel over half of the globe its pretty useless.
You need good routing, so no you don't need to buy better internet (no such thing). Just use is in a proper way. |

ping is determined by how far or close you are from the server, for example if i lived in italy and i tried to connect to a server in america, my ping would be high. but if i tried to connect to a server which is not too far away from italy, my ping would be low. the best solution to tackle this problem is to not download or join another server which is closer to you.

That is a bug in the server list if you want the Pings just refresh the list a couple of times and its fine and also once you find a server with a low ping and you like the maps Bookmark it and then you dont have to wait for the Server list to ping every time

Yes but 3 games that I tried to join..."Problem with your connection", I failed to play. Is it something with settings? I am able to download torrents @1-6mbps, so I am sure the connection is descent.

After a server has react on your ping, the browser will show you the value. ![]() |

Ping is the amount of milliseconds it takes if you send a ping request to a server up to the moment you receive the server response. You can compare it to sonar, which sends out a ping (coincidence?), reflects on a ships hull and is received back by the submarine, where they can calculate the distance by measuring the time between sending and receiving. The more jumps your request has to make (from connection point to connection point until the server you ping), the higher your ping is. You can determine your basic ping by taking a ping scan at the following website. This site will ping to the nearest server near you, so you can get a reading of your current ping to a near connection point. http://pingtest.net/ BTW, you should be able to play without problems if your ping to the server is up to 50-80 ms. ![]() |

It has to be something else. This ping test site gives me ping 7ms which is practically 0.
Is it Firefox? I always have ~20-30 tabs open Is it firewall settings? I tried to find If firewall blocks something but for my amateur eyes everythings seems to be ok. Is it win 7? |

You can sort the server browser for ping. ![]() Which is the lowest ping you see for the servers?? In this example it is Arena wars 5 and 7 with ping of 21 ms. EDIT: 20-30 tabs with probably advertising in most of them which refresh often will not help. Have you tried closing them all except BFP4F, oh, and turn of torrent software or any other downloaders? ![]() |

I was playing BF2 and Company of Heroes with no ping problems. The ping test was with all the tabs open. I have tried to open it from Internet Explorer, while I had closed all Firefox(with its numerous tabs) without any improvement.
I really hate that some times, things do not work properly without any obvious reason:/ |

I have super high ping as well. My internet connection is usually very good and I don't have any ping issues with other games. I also have no other programmes opened which would lower the ping. I'm connected via W-LAN. Could my mates be the problem, who are streaming videos while I'm playing?
