I am playing with the Recon at the moment, inlcuding the mortarstrike boost. (My claymores and Grenades are not working). My objective is:
- Win the round with my team
- Level up to 25 as fast as possible

With Mortarstrike it is easy to get kills and therefor objective 2 can be done pretty fast. However, if I use my mortarstrike wisely, the first objective is easy too. I try to use it for defending and capturing flags. And yes it works (though people hate it). I tend to hate the recon that sits in their base while they are losing, and putting out those mortarstrikes to kill, but nothing more.

Also, and yes I do it when I want to cap a flag, is the usage of mortarstrike on spawnpoints! Ofcourse this is irritating, but (only) sometimes needed for the flagcaptures. If recons use it pure for points, they suck tbh.

I would like to make my point here. Make sure that Mortarstriks can not be used in the area of basespawn. That is what destroys the game. Well, now I am going to irritate people with my Recon Smile

sorry but what the hell was that???? it is good and bad using mortar strike at the same time and the only thing that makes difference si from where the mortar is casted??? or it is need "only sometimes" to capture the flag??? god damn it always and it works great.... jesus you don´t even have to play to irritate someone.....

I think that the mortar strike is being heavily over used, but so is the C4. The C4 should not refill by ammo boxes and the mortar strike needs to have a longer cool down period.

I beleive when using the MS your location on the map should be given to all enemies. That would even things out HAHA!

Yes the mortar strike deffinatly needs a much longer cool down period.

needs a longer cooldown time.needs to be around 90 secs at max lvl,not 30 secs.
devs need to remember theres usually more then one sniper in a server spamming it.

I have only been playing for a day, and it has already got on my nerves. It's especially bad when your team is only on 1 base and there is a constant barrage of metal hitting your head.

I think having it take extra long to cool down would pretty much make it a waste of TP for recon which, out of all my classes, seems to have really taken a beating lately with the updates. Since the booster is probably not going away, I still think the damage done per shell and blast radius per shell should not be any different between boosted and non boosted. I think just increasing the area hit would still make the MS and booster worth it for clearing flags and the surrounding area but not a completely devastating weapon as it is now. The standard power MS works quite well for helping clearing out flags as it is,,, works good for me anyways.

I havent had the heart yet to rent the booster and dont want to go down that road until the damage is lessened. It was hard enough running RPG booster and avoiding the temptation to not use it as a primary like all the other engies and just shoot infantry with it, the shear destruction of that MS would be as addicting as a junkie on crack.

really? because i think that unboosted version could be more powerful than it is now...

and ... u have always mortar strike awarness skill!!!! so why don't use it???

Honestly after using boosted max mortar strike, its sickening how OP it is, 10+ kills per reload is easy. A revamped MS system should be increasing your points in it should add shells and slight damage with max being being about 20% weaker than current boosted MS. And the booster should reduce the cool down time by about 20-30 seconds (from 2 min). This way unboosted can still rain down death but boosted lets you do it slightly faster without being completely OP.
