It requires some knowledge of the file structure, but more or less you can take a map from idea to 90% finished just by using The BF2 Editor.

Actually my plan is to do a simple interface, EASY to use. Also a tool that allows ppl of the forum to share it's ideas.

@kayack1: The maps we do will not be used by devs, but will give them a more clear idea of the community ideas for maps.

Ok, so like a 2D interface where you can place houses, bridges, draw roads and river and add forests or mountains and such, flags and spawns etc in top-down? That would be nice to see Smile

or in 3D? Shy

It will be a good feature for admins of server, create own maps... But i think, this is play4free game, so we will not have privilegia to load this map to our server and add it to the game Wink ...

I'm working on a 3d editor, with Unity3D how kayack1 said. Maybe i can add a feature to generate a 2D map too.

If the maps will or not be implemented, depends only on devs, but my tool don't work on the same engine of BFP4F, so it's just to create and share map CONCEPTS.

I love you gonna make it your selves. Our dear creators (those who never think about how did they name this game) would be lazy enough look at it and read it sometimes after the summer, then consider it up to the spring and release it by the winter of next year.

I'm actually quite good with a map editor. It all takes is lots of programming except when using something extremely difficult like trying to make a custom map on something new out there (GW3, HALO4 etc) and yes, they can be made IF used correctly to make a custom map and if you got permission from the company to do so. Compared to most games, BFP4F has a great and simple system that over time can be mastered and made. Depending on the security of BFP4F, it wouldn't take too much work.

Your doing great BTW!

if EA gave me approval and passwords so I wouldn't have to do anything that could have been prevented if they just gave me the passwords, I'd do it. I'd probably just join RIOT games though since they have some decent job openings and with good pay.
