Speaking of training with jets, one thing that annoys me is the "jet competition" sort of thing where you have to wait (along with other players) for one to respawn only to see the closer player steal it. It's annoying when along with getting shot down most of the time you also have to wait big amounts of time before training again. Do you usually try to wait at the base or just respawn in the battlefield after you die?
Also, I seem to have a problem with spotting enemy jets. 90% of the time they manage to see me before I do (and I get shot down as a result). Is there some specific route/strategy experienced jet players use in order to see enemies before they do? |

I already tried searching and I found some very useful tips (in particular the guide with all the maneuvers and stuff) but I still seem not to get it. And don't worry about it if you never seem to "get it". Not everyone can fly well, especially dogfighting. I can't. So ... I honed my ground skills and became a 'certified' ArmorHo. S'okay, you flyboyz keep the enemy jets and helos off us, and we'll take the flags! (30-06-2011 07:05 PM)Gamgra Wrote: Does anybody know how to get joysticks to work on the game? Click on PLAY NOW! to launch BFP4F. Click on OPTIONS, select AIRCRAFT Under CONTROLS, select a movement and move the appropriate joystick function. Things are going better and better. I noticed flight performances are a lot dependent on the overall skills of the players in the server. Quite obvious, but still didn't think it would make such a big difference. I found a server of average/low skilled people today and ended with a K/D ratio of 15/1.
There's still two things that remain unclear though: 1) Bombing sights of the american jet seem to be way lamer than the one of the russian jet. Whenever I play as a US soldier ground targets won't show up until the very last moment. On the other hand they will show up way earlier if I'm russian. Sometimes triangles will appear when I'm still above the clouds. Does anyone else have the same feeling or is it just my impression? 2) Jet respawning time. I figured out there can only be 2 jets out at one time (which is pretty much necessary, otherwise the map would be overflooded with flying jets) so no jet will respawn if both are still alive. At first I thought a jet would respawn as soon as it gets destroyed but then I noticed there are times when there's no jets flying on the minimap yet they won't respawn immediatly so I can't figure out clearly when a jet is going to pop up. Other players seem to have a better knowledge of jet respawning times though. During a game today I saw a player sit all the time on the AA at the base leaving it only 5 seconds before the jet appeared. And as the jet respawned he immediatly got in, meaning he KNEW it was about to spawn. So I'm now asking, is there any data available on jet spawning times? |
