Well, there should be an uninstall.exe in your game folder. But before you do that...here is some info posted by tech support in another topic:

Quote:I suggest you download CCleaner on http://www.piriform.com

Make first a backup point of windows, for security:

http://windows.microsoft.com/fr-FR/windo...tore-point

After uninstalling, run CCleaner and do a cleaning and temporary data and unused files from your registry.

I did that, I clicked on the uninstaller file and it said "Not enough arguments". LOL. Do I have to complain my pc why I should uninstall the game?

When I click your link for the backup point of windows it opens a venster with "Bad request". So the link isn't working.

Sorry for the doublepost.

Ok, I have exactly the same problem. After the today's updates the game crashes every time when a map is loading (any map). I'd like to see if a fresh install will fix it, but for some reason the game is not in the "Add/remove Programs" list. When I try to use Uninstaller - "Not enough arguments". Tried to run it as Administrator, but it's still the same.

So, does anyone know a WORKING way to uninstall the game? Or do I have to just delete the Battlefield folder from Program Files and clean the registry?

Well that's really stupid on EA's part. Every decent piece of software has a WORKING uninstaller... I just don't get it O.o

"An error occurred: Failed to write registry value: Installation Dir"
This is what I get when I try to install it again (after deleting the BF folder and cleaning the registry)...

And that's happens right after I spent 3000 credits on my weapon! This is ridiculous!

What's next EA? Reinstalling Windows just so I can install Battlefield again?! Pfft...

The Error is Known and easily fixable, try to Search, only one Time! It would save lots of time for both of us:

(30-05-2011 12:43 PM)HomeSen Wrote:  Failed to write Registry value: Installation Dir
If you want to install/update the game, you need to do the following:
HomeSen Wrote:You need to start your browser with administrative privileges when you want to install the game under Windows Vista/Win7:
1. Close all browser windows
2. Right-click on your browser's icon
3. Select "Run as Administrator"
4. Install the game via "Play Now"
5. Be happy

If you "uninstalled" the game by deleting the game folder, you got into the trouble I mentioned above. You now need to manually delete the Registry values, in order to install the game again.

1. Press [WINDOWSKEY] + [R], the "Run..." dialog will open
2. Type regedit and press [RETURN] or click on OK
3. Inside the "Registry Editor", navigate to the appropriate "folder", according to your OS's architecture:
For 32bit Windows:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield Play4Free

For 64bit Windows:
Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield Play4Free

4. Delete the Battlefield Play4Free "folder".
5. Try to install again. If it doesn't work, you need to restart your PC, since some registry changes are only applied after a restart Wink
