If you haven't tried the map since the PTE, I would suggest that you play a number of rounds on it before passing judgement. The changes which were implemented have improved the balance of the map considerably. The new version of Basra hasn't been released for long enough yet to get a proper feeling for it. In my opinion, many of those that don't like Sharqi due to its CQC nature will enjoy Basra a a lot more . Give it a chance over the next few days before immediately saying you don't like it .

As for Quads, we have no intention of adding them to Basra.
For all of you vehicle fanatics out there, we are working another map which will once again allow you to take to the air and rain down death .

Freaking uuuurgh. Why not release such a map in the FIRST place? Why not release a REAL Battlefield map? Why this CODfield? You have no intention in ncluding quad bikes in this map? Are you even playing the game or are you just here to "calm" the masses?

You guys who love Oman are the ones who NEED vehicles to kill anything. once your weapon is in your hands..you are useless.
You know both teams are full of IC's (intellectually challenged-thats the new PC term for retards) and half of them are going to camp at their main base either pulling their puds waiting for something to fly, or are shooting allied vehicles so no one can fly and make the rest of the IC's stand around even longer pulling their puds. Then the team with teh better pilots gets to sit back and lol as the few ground troops who attempt to cap things die over and over by bombing runs or heli strafes.

People cried and cried for a new map. Then they give you a good map, and you complain it is not like Oman.

Not every map is going to be like Oman. And this is no where near the same as Sharqi. I played it a lot on the PTE and it is a great map and just like the description said when they announced it was going to open the other day, it is close quarters in places, and DOES have long range areas for snipe/counter snipe operations. There are many ways to enter each base so its hard to bottleneck them making you stay on your toes if you are on defense.

Play the map. learn the map. enjoy the map.

And stop bitching about vehicles. half of you probably drive irl the same way you drive in game anyway. like crap.

You msut not have read many things about the new BF3 coming out...there will be infantry only maps in that as well. does that mean you are going to write off the game because some maps dont have vehicles? Battlefield is known for vehicles in maps. we get that. but every franchise needs to broaden their horizons when trying to gain new customers and supporters. Many of the pople who have never played a battlefield game before this (such as I) enjoy the mix of map types. That means I like the open range of Oman, I like the metropolis setting of KArkand, I enjoy the heart pumping close quarters of Sharqi...and I like sniping all you QQ'rs from the downed aircraft in Basra.

And btw, COD has some vehicles. please do more research before you make claims. You make statments like they are gospel, but the only thing you are preaching to is your own close minded stupidity.

The only reason why i like vehicle based maps is because of the scale of things... and because infantry only maps become boring fast.

Oh and i don't NEED a vehicle to kill you. Check sig. It was on oman and i haven't spent one second in a vehicle.

I'm a big fan of Oman, because it can please every strategy!
I've a recon and I LOVE Oman, it's huge, and a assault (vehicule man with tank's, apc's, choppers and jet's).
But this game must have a little of everything.
I never complainned about the maps, because it has a map with ground vehicules, sea vehicules and air vehicules (Oman), a map with only ground vehicules (karkand), and a map with with no vehicules (Sharqi).
Ia has the 3 styles.
Now we have another map with no vehicules, and having the information that they were making another fully vehicule map!
The maps are ok, and I understand the developpers!
I only have one question?!? When it's possible to get more than 20 level's?!? it's when tier 3 appears?!?
Are any possible date for that?!? I'm thinking about buying wepons throught Battle Funds but waiting for tier 3...
