First impressions (BFH, >SP< BFBC2, (A LITTLE) AA3 are the only games I have ever played that are close to this game):

1. Smoothness of response of server

What I mean is that when I press shoot it shoots instantly. When I move in scope there is no lag like in BFH.

2. I felt I lacked general information (GUI/interface based, not really combat)

I had no idea how to do anything really besides moving around (WASD). I understood almost immediately how to switch weapons/etc. from the layout like BFH. I did not understand the mini map symbols/etc.

I also didn't know how to identify the different classes. I still can't identify the ground turrets or what each one is for/does.

3. Identifying allies/enemies was really strange to me. (I know this sounds kinda dumb, but I saw blood come out of allies)

I guess there were a lot of new players because almost half of the game people with orange names would be by my side half the time shooting along with me at everything that moved. Both teams had random outfits (and still a few do) so outfit's didn't really help. My outfit is almost always matches the enemies.

4. I had the lost feeling, not knowing what was where.

I didn't know where vehicles spawned (or why), where enemies usually hung out, or where to go depending on where I spawned and what enemies there were. Also, I had a very lost feeling of the map - I have a 3d mapping system in my head where I see paths to go places like roof tops and stuff, so learning that took a REALLY long time due to me getting killed a lot. Also when someone killed me I had NO IDEA at all where they were because i did not recognize anything around them.

5. I had a really big n00b feeling.

I was spawn killed about half of the time I spawned. By this I mean that within 2 seconds of actually coming back alive, I would be instantly killed. I had no time at all to see who was shooting me. Later I learned of where they would usually go to do this. I also felt n00b because everybody else seemed to know what to do - they were throwing grenades and placing claymores, etc.

6. I had a feeling of lack of knowledge.

I didn't know about any abilities of any of the other classes (or my own). I didn't understand that medics put packs on the ground and that if you went close you could go close and heal up. (same with ammo, and still ignorant if there are any other team based abilities except->) and that medics could electrify you back to life - saw several enemies get back to life, but never myself still p;

I also didn't know even simple things like what angle to throw the motion sensor, when to jump to get over a wall, why I couldnt hop over a low wall (you know when you get up against it, it sticks to you), what angles could not be run up on, or driven up on, bullet falling (still working on this one) (why I got a headshot when aiming above the head! lol and oc how far ahead of enemy to hit them)

I also didn't know what accuracy each gun really had.
7. I was unaware of good strategies

In BFH I was used to going anywhere because you can be invisible Big Grin so when I got here I had no idea what to do. I didn't know where to go on what maps.

8. I felt that team work was pretty useless because there was on communication

There is no way to communicate besides chat which disables the ability to fight or defend yourself.

9. Mini map confusion

I HATE THE MINI MAP because not only is it zoomed too far in, but after either: opening the map, or a match is complete, the MINI MAP ZOOMS WAY OUT.

When I have a motion sensor down it is completely useless after the first match. (I hope they correct this)

10. I thought the graphics looked really good - but still hate the small FOV.

After playing BFH as long as I did with lagging horrible graphics (I had to use low settings), and then having good settings here not lag at all was really cool to me. I also really liked the vehicles, and how they were good quality.

I hate the small FOV when you are moving, in real life you can see 180deg, so I don't think that it should not be as small as it is (I think it's less than even 90deg, close to 75?)

---

Over all I really like the quick fights, the different layouts in the maps (open, very close range, land based, air based, etc.).

I especially like the fact that killing/getting killed isn't directly related to winning, but that teamwork and strategy is.

I really do not like that every kill shows the enemy where you are.

I hate that when you call a position of an enemy it USUALLY does not work, even if I am up against a tank it still does not work! This really bugs me because I can be scoping and save lives by calling the enemy rushing from behind my allies, but click after click does nothing.

I hate the fact that I wasted thousands of credits because I wasted all of my bandages on XP that I lost because the game ERRORED OUT. Because of this I won't buy anything else until it is fixed of course, but I feel that I am weened off of the adrenaline anyway lol.

Good job EA team keep up the good work; besides the above mentioned glitches/bugs I really enjoy the game, meet a lot of nice and good team mates, and have a lot of fun!

EDIT: I never thought of it until I saw another post about it, but spectating mode would have helped me in most areas of n00bishness ;p

Impressions ...

Well its a awesome game with a lot of bugs yet but it is good =)

u guys got me, i just love bf2 ( classic ) and use Karkand and Oman ( favorite maps ) in this game makes me almost fell at "home".

But i really missed the squad feature and the command gameplay.
also i liked the classes from bf2 and now we only have 4 classes as we have on bad company 2
( where was the fkn c4 ?! no 1 have c4 =/ )

Anyway this game rocks, but its not very exiting to create an acc and start playing this game,
and find out that XP and Training Points are not computing in the main server.

I just started the game got a ton of kills and score, lvld a lot and the server simple dont update my acc.

hugs

well im lvl 20 with my sniper-blakedog- and lvl 19 with my engineer-sgtfreacon- and i suppose the only complaint i have is that i cant get more training points to spread around . now i know tier 3 is coming soon and will bring with it the chance to advance to lvl 50. i hope it happens soon. there are alot of things in the training tab i would love to utilize for my soldiers. over all i love this game. by far the best free to play fps around. and i know it has the micro transactions as i have spent nearly $70 on weapons and such, but you really can do well with just the free guns bfp4f offers. i hate the people who blow up there own vehicles! and from what i hear tier 3 will also eliminate that as well. of course there are some bugs on the game but from where i started to where im at now things have improved greatly. and the addition of new maps always makes for a nice change if you get somewhat boared with things the way they are. ive been on here for about 3 to 4 months and have seen the addition of 2 new maps. basra and dragon valley. both awsome maps. so you have the people who cry no matter what you do, but over all ive had nothing but great times playing bfp4f. thanks to all who are involved in this game. im looking forward to spending mass hours here, and probaly a few more dollars. and some people say its pay to win and all that junk, but you really dont have to buy anything. its just nice that you can. i have the enhanced scope m95 and i drop em like flys with that one haha, good times. so there it is. over all great game

im not trying to ***** or something but since you guys maybe read this place(probably not tbh)
snipers have way too low range, that was my first thing.
at helicopter controls, i cant change the mouse controls, those "M0 , and -M0" etc..
hitboxes are weird..
also you cant shoot through anything
game feels a bit laggy "unsmooth" no its not my hardware.
those points "C" stuff are way too hard to get if you dont pay for them, i thought this was free Big Grin...

but in other hand..the game is free so you cant really expect something BIG.
also pretty much what this guy said

Stumbled across P4F after a failed attempt to run the BF3 beta (PC too lame). First impressions:

1/ Gameplay. Blown away! So much sharper than Black Ops with it's debilitating lag. And there is so much more depth to the game; makes COD seem like childsplay. When playing Battlefield, I just so much more feel part of a team than I ever did in COD, with people camping to get their killstreaks and protecting their precious K/D etc etc.

2/ Graphics/Hardware requirements. A bit spartan. And that is after playing COD on the Wii. But once I get immersed in the game I just don't notice. But poorer graphics means that pretty much any PC will run the game; a fair trade off. Runs fine on my lame laptop, which can't even run BFBC2 at a viable speed.

3/ Cost. You really can play4free and get along just fine. I really don't like the presence of boosters though, and would like to be able to try out all of the guns on credit, even at a high price. May actually spend some real money on BF so that I can get the gun of my choice without worrying about putting the time in to earn credits to rent the MP7.

4/ Maps. Limited choice but Oman and Dragon Valley are 5 star. Just don't see the point of playing Basra or Sharqi as an Engineer though; what is the point of being an Engineer if there are no vehicles? At least the server browser lets me avoid these maps easily enough (love Air Only servers).

5/ Ranking up/ Character Progression. Like the fact that it takes a long time to rank up and earn your training points; makes you feel that you have really achieved something when you do, rather than the endless rounds of prestige in COD (yawn). Gives the game longer term interest.

War gaming all my life and really pleased to have found a game that's not just one particular skill or dexterity with a mouse, keyboard or pad, but all if you wish.
I'm only just beginning to find a natural movement, without having to think about controls and fannying about, pressing this, that and the other and for me it's taken a long time to master and I'm still learning every game at the same time as bringing to life a few stagnant brain cells.
Any newbies still undecided, do hang I there I promise it gets better and better as your skills improve and your satisfaction grows as enemies tumble around you

First impressions.

1: Good graphics.
2: Ooh, vehicles!
3: This is a "Pay to Win" game.
4: No one is a team player.

General impressions: Teamwork is the heart of Battlefield series. Pay to Win makes this a much worse situation.
Don't bother buying Battlefunds, get a real Battlefield game, like Battlefield 2, Bad Company 2 or even Battlefield 3.

Yup, another in the long line of FPS-specific behavior plagued games which is all right until certain players arrive and ...

I could see a player here and there who is so good, maybe someone spent the thousands of dollars to have the best computer and network gaming and controller equipment (not to mention all the buy-store-add-ons) and then trained incessantly 24-7 not just to level up the skills but also because this person so likes the game that they decided this is the one thing they're going to excel in, and that's just for starters.

This person just so happens to be a skilled combat pilot in real life and the computer's characteristics are a close enough match that this player can control the baddest airborne vehicle in the game with such deadly accuracy that when this person enters a server, they own...Maybe one out of a thousand players has the ability to deliver a guided / heat seeking missile from an unsteady, moving airborne platform to the insides of a building, say via the door, I could tolerate this happening from time to time.

I think we can all agree that such a player would be the exception, but it doesn't happen just once in a moon... We're not talking if you or I can find the vehicle that they fly, we will own similar as them... No, we will have enough trouble just keeping the aircraft afloat in the sky without crashing but these players can command the most atrociously stubborn to control vehicle as if they had been born wearing it, their craft reacts with such accuracy that these folks can deliver the puniest of average unguided drop-and-pray-it-hits-something bomb of a drop projectile right through the 3-inch window of the building where someone just spawned...
E.v.e.r.y. single time, pretty much.

BF 1942, BF2 and now here too, sure enough.

Folks with 70 kills and 3 deaths, 16 k's and 2 d's counts as well, you get the picture.
Pay to win, the curve seems a bit steep here.

Mind you this doesn't happen every so often as if per pure stroke of luck, and not every player is that good but it happens with a frequency... These feats of apparently superhuman hand-eye coordination occur in the game with a frequency of almost 100 percent, almost every server has these players who will hit their target each and every time, probably at least two and three of these folks each side.

Now...
One might be inclined to believe that through rigorous training and leveling one's own skills and spending a gross amount of money one might come close to achieving perfection but in my opinion it either boils down to more than that, so no matter how many hours someone spends playing they never really get to experience this level of L33T'ness... As I'm having some real difficulty imagining most folks throwing thousands of dollars at gaming and computer equipment and certain fancy pixels... Most such folks would be adults with a steady job that demands most of their time so all they do is work and play this game (once again leading us to what one might run into once in twenty years, rather than daily).

Maybe if this were an exclusive gaming platform I could see a group of elite players hanging out here as well, but I do not for one instant believe this or anything else that falls under the realm of reasonable excuses, reasons and causes to be the case.

The figures don't just not add up, the problem is so widespread and belligerently in my face that there is no way any logically thinking human being could come to any other conclusion when in fact I believe most people who play this game are hardly old enough to have a job, the money that would be required to create the players I am talking about would have to come from the parents and once again there is a difficulty envisioning anyone spending that kind of money, a parent giving their child thousands of dollars a year just for fun?

No, I strongly suspect that it boils down to something else and I see this problem in a lot of multiplayer platforms, it is sad but I will not be playing this much.

My first impressions??? I'm about to uninstall it forever. I cannot seem to get past the stupid "you need to get your primary weapon equipped" comment. I have NO idea how to do that. Not everyone knows what they're doing when it comes to games like this. It looks like it would be so fun, but sadly, I'm not finding an answer as to how to fix that.

Great!! Smile Today , I played it for the first time. Round one: DEAD! one of the most difficult games ive ever played though I played with my buddies and had a great time. I kept practicing until i could actually kill my rank 8 buddy. Now you may be saying thats not that great, but the truth is, i dont really play much shooting games, I like Nfs world and test drive etc,etc... (i'm a car guy) but i have played shooting games in the past and this by far is one of the best. Much better than black ops(in my opinion)-(plz no hater comments) I played for about 3 hrs this afternoon with my sniper. I love oman and karkland, there was this other one though which was awesome which i really can't remember.

Recommendations:1) Costs: Weapons cost alot of money when it comes to powerful, some people actually don't get to spend real money on virtual stuff(Love the game,no bad comments plz!)
2) Time: For me, i really don't like the idea of only having the weapon for only a limited amount of time, (Here is an idea: Buyable weapons that last forever which can be bought with silver coins.
3) Levels: Wouldn't it be a good idea to have a specific server/servers for high ,veteran players, that way beginners would'nt be frustrated when they get killed by level 20, recons, with mega snipers.
These are just some my thoughts on what can be done. I know the kind of work E.A does and how much time they take to make awesome games like this, so don't rush with the improvments, but please bring them in.

Overall, great,awesome,epic,beautifull,interesteing.......

Love the game and i'm gonna be playing alot of this for sure.

Add me in the game, my name is K.G-SHOTS - Level 2 recon.

Great job E.a keep it up, I hope to see more play4free games.

1. You must be new here. There are often codes handed out for ~1000 funds. Or you could try sponsorpay

2. True story. Just play a lot and earn credits.

3. *Cough* Daily Draw *Cough*

4. There isn't. Once you unlock a weapon, you can try it for very few credits (which is the way it's meant to be)
You can also play in the PTE. It has a lot of weapons which you can try practically for free.
