An error occurred: Failed to download patch file

I had the patch problem so i uninstalled the game, now that ive tried to re install the game i keep getting the Failed to download patch method. Ive uninstalled the addon for both IE and Google Chrome and have also tried running it as administrator but nothing is working. Please Help

i'm also unable to run Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1
when program window prompt me said do you want to allow this program on your computer click on yes and nothing happen next, tried it many times already i've completely install the M.Net framework 4

MAYBE you didn't used your account very long time, because I had the same probleb but I registered one more time and now battlefield play for free is updating normaly

Im a new player.. When i created the account and stuff then i pressed on Play Now ( in the website )
And then it installed the browser but, when it come's to the half in the patch then it write: An error occurred: Failed to download patch file. So i havent the browser.. so how can i play it?

ummm i try to play and join the server but after 10 seconds i join in something called punkbuster continuously kicks me out of the server plzzz fix!!!

any word on how to fix this failed to download patch file error? also tried to uninstall several ways but still doesn't work and i've used up nearly 10 gigs trying to reinstall again and again...

Ok, i have got mine to download. I am using firefox. What i did was i uninstalled the battlefield client from firefox add-ons under extensions. then i updated .net framework extension from the firefox website. enable the .net framework. delete the install folder if there is any in program files or where you installed the game. and then log in and click play now to install again. make sure you restart your computer after you have done all and before you install the game...

guys i found a solution.
when i downloaded the game i had the same problem because sometimes the screen saver showed up and messed everything up and it would say(failed to download patch file)
what you guys need to do is switch off this screen saver
1.go to control panel
2.go to display and find screen saver
3.choose the screen saver:(none)
4.apply changes
5. try downloading bfp4f again
i hoped it works with you guys, tell me if it did
o yea if it still dont work first delete the extension. good luck.
