What would you think of a quick smooth animation for going prone, during which you can't fire the weapon? This would make sure it's not abused in any way, and it'd encourage people to camp less when they can instinctically take cover anywhere on the map instead of being forced as a high silhouette target. Prone has always been a problem for a few reason. 1 reason with BF2 and since this game is using the BF2 engine players could exploit the use of prone to negate the damage of bullets by "dolphin diving". Sprint, jump and then prone and you wouldn't take any damage at all. Another thing to note is that once you hit your prone button you can once again shoot. Lastly, I believe EAsy is on the same page as how DICE is with prone. It slows down game play. Maybe more so with BC2 since you have all that over and under growth on maps appose to Karkand here with Battlefield P4F but, I'm inclined to agree with both EAsy and DICE. I would like to see prone again in Battlefield games if "dolphin diving" was fixed but, with this engine I just don't see that happening. |
