I was kicked by punk buster and I was not cheating ( hacking) ?????????? or even have any hack programs I like to play clean so intrested in why was kicked by punk buster

Open up PB logfile: C:%homepath%\AppData\Local\PunkBuster\BFP4F\pb\pbcl.log (copy paste into run window (windows button + R))

Check what it kicks you for. For instance RESTRICTION: Service Communication Failure:

Hello. I did the thing above and I got this,

Everytime i join a server I keep getting this. is there anyway to fix this?

Got the same fail, it's just PnkBstrA.exe

Tried to reinstall PB several times, manually downloading PB updates and running their updater. Nothing worked

how did you update?
I get the same problem from time to time and re-installing pb has worked for me.

I used the pbsvc_p4f.exe from within the battlefield play4free/pb folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\EA Games\Battlefield Play4Free\pb (windows 7 pro 64bit)

I usually run the test first to see if any errors come up but always get test successful, but I still re-install PB using the same exe and this seems to fix it for a few days at least.

Let me copypaste one of my solutions from anohther topic which has been proven to help at least on the "heartbeat" issue. This should works on other Punkbuster related issues (handshaking) too on my knowledge:

Quote:1)When you get kicked, try to join to a new server.
2)If you keep getting kicked, exit the game
4)Be sure to kill bfp4f.exe and the bfp4f updater via task manager (ctrl+alt+del)
3)Kill punkbuster processes "pnkbstra.exe" and "pnkbstrb.exe" via task manager
5)Start the game and try to join a server. Punkbuster should now restart (so "pnkbstra.exe" and "pnkbstrb.exe" should reappear in task manager after joining at least once to a server, dont touch these after this). There might be some weird kicks after this, but keep rejoining to a new servers and eventually it should let you stay in. Normally it kicks you 3 times for some weird reason and after this it leaves you alone (and go propably bug someone else).
6)If the same problem reappears (or stays) you can always try again.

Notes:
Processes "pnkbstra.exe" and "pnkbstrb.exe" are ESSENTIAL for punkbuster so if the punkbuster won't restart them (after you killed them and restarted your game) you will always be kicked no matter what. In this case restart your pc. Referring to some conspiracy theories these processes scan your pc for hacks/someone have found their paypal account password inside the processes. Anyhow, the punkbuster need to stay contact with these processes during the game.

Anyways your problem is caused by "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe". If you ask me its because of the shítty coding which punkbuster is famous of and has likely nothing to do with your computer. In your case these processes propably crash/corrupt/malfunction somehow so the punkbuster loses contact with them forcing to kick you. Its pretty likely that this isnt going to be fixed. If nothing else helps try reinstalling punkbuster.

Ask for more help if you dont understand something, my reply got kinda messy.

after that my Punkbuster B is deaktivated in services and i have to restart my PC
after that reboot the service is gone, only A left.
have to reinstall that piece of crap to play
happens again and again

Please use an anti-cheat tool that actually protects player instead of kick them and suicide after that

Well, I got kicked a couple of times, but i just made what SharpSHooter said and it worked (no 3 times kick fortunately) So, I guess you should try it.

i would do that, but i know it won't work.

I think it was "P4F stopped working blah", restarted the game via "Play Now"
then i got kicked by Punkbuster.

The p4f crash "killed" Punkbuster service B and it was marked to be uninstalled at the next reboot.
after a service is marked it can't be started stopped or opened
So there will be no restart. Without the B-service i will get kicked instantly

will screenshot that next time

Before you follow any of the following advices I recommend backupping any punkbuster files/register your going to delete. Keep in mind you can always end up in worse situation than when started.

So your missing punkbuster files and therefore can't get it running?

If you just deleted "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe" manually it should start working if you find replacement file (copy one from your friends for example).

Sometimes replacing the "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe" don't work. In this case (read the whole message thru before start doing anything, I know its long but try not to get suicidal):
I haven't tried this but I would try deleting the whole pb folder "C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield Play4Free\pb" (or wherever you installed thhe game). Then try to start the game up again and see if the updater will download a fresh Punkbuster for you. However this folder doesn't contain either of the "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe" so I doubt if it works in this case.

IMPORTANT:
Normally if you scramble (accidentally or on purpose) with "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe" (delete, diassemble/modify, fix them with hjackthis for example) the ingame punkbuster updater/installer will not fix these. If this happens, I would delete all punkbuster related things off my computer. You will also need to search you register for every small punkbuster bits and delete them manually (if you dont do this you will never get punkbuster running in any game).

Of my knowledge if you cant get "pnkbstra.exe" or "pnkbstrb.exe" running, any manual/automatic updater or installer won't fix it. You have to clean up your pc from punkbuster related stuff (the pb folder in game install path,other files and registry). This makes the punkbuster think that it hasn't been ever installed on your computer and therefore install all needed files. If you delete just the "pb" folder, "pnkbstra.exe" and "pnkbstrb.exe" then the ingame updater will be fooled by the registry marks thinking that the punkbuster is already installed (and will install only the missing "pb" folder).

I'm not aware of about punkbuster updates so I don't know if theres easier way around it. You can contact the punkbuster thru evenbalance site (http://www.evenbalance.com) but I doubt it helps anything. They will take forever to answer and the problem is always your "firewall" or "colour of your keyboard" or something else that makes absolutely no sense at all.

I don't know if punkbuster service ("big picture") has changed lately(for better/worse direction). I'm writing on my own experience. I'm not responsible if you blow up you pc while doing this and there might be other solutions too. So in a nutshell my info might be outdated.

Im pretty sure that nobody cares about my opinions but on my experience punkbuster will not fix any problems that arent extremely essential. They sit thumbs up in their asses and you should not wait for better tomorrow and I highly recommend searching aid at forums like this.

Can you try to explain better? Is your b-service removed from start-up processes/the file deleted or what? How the crash managed to screw up the b service (they shouldnt be related)? So when you join a server your b doesn't start (confirm via task manager)? Try replace the pnkbstrb.exe (located at system32 folder) with another copy (ask one from your friend for instance).

If that doesn't help, the only thing that comes to my mind is to wipe out all punkbuster related stuff (as I wrote earlier) and start up the game again. You can't start these processes manually, the punkbuster has to do it.

Important note: If the BFP4F crash only stopped/exit the b process and didnt touch the .exe/registry values, it should start normally when joined server. In this case DONT go rogue on punkbuster files, the problem lies elsewhere.

Since there seems to be alot of PnkbstrA and PnkbstrB related issues, please do the following before writing a reply, it saves alot of time(so I dont have to tell everyone the same thing):

My pb doesnt start for some reason i check if its running when i eventually enter a game for a few seconds but it doesnt show,and my pb log just mentions that the pb homepath has changed to the p4f,pb folder.BTW my log never mentioned the communications failure it has when it kicks me only the change in homepath.

EDIT: Ok, after i get a working B service EXE i deleted the pb folders of Heroes and P4F and downloaded the old pbsetup.zip from evenbalance. "old" because i cant select P4F to update it's Punkbuster.
So i selected Heroes. It updated, but niw i cant start Heroes and P4F because it's xxx_svc.exe is missing
