The developer team has done a great job on the map's size and its vehicles 'n aircrafts.
Some irregular lagg has interrupted the fun though, but it seems the stress test has been successfull this time.
The map was active during exactly the predicted time "18:00 - 21:00 CET on Saturday the 29th 2011".
Great job EA! All nice except the lagg...

played 3 rounds. it was great. no lag but alot of fun..
but but but.. now it just goes back to that terrible karkan or whatever its called map..

DICE? You could say Easy (the company), but DICE? EA is the owner of both DICE and Easy so you can just say EA.
After a few problems with connecting I was able to play for most of the Beta.
Game ran well and didnt have any glitches or instability.

DICE? You could say Easy (the company), but DICE? EA is the owner of both DICE and Easy so you can just say EA.
And karkand is a great map! 3 rounds per map. U can play 3 rounds karkand, then 3 rounds oman, then again 3 rounds of karkand, etc.
Couldnt play at all
I was / am Continually getting kicked by Punk Buster, when I do eventually manage to get into a game without timing out or loosing conection it will last for 20 seconds to 1 minute and then I am kicked...
PB setup is up to date aswell.
1. It's a closed beta
2. EA never said to "test Oman" but to stress test a big amount of players
3. EA got their stress test: amount of players trying to play + map rotation bugs + ping tests
4. Karkand is NOT TESTED, Karkand was a map to test parts of the game- realize that, plz
At the end, everything went as planned, except...
There is one thing that I am disappointed in- they put that stupid prize into today's test- that should not have been done!

If your getting kicked by PB then its PB issue not the game.
Check PB forums for a list of processes that interfere with PB, some Viruscan and Antimalware try to mess with it and you will get kicked.
EA - how soon till we know if we made the 10k target ?
I'm playing from NZ and I'm getting kick out from the game due to "ping too hight".
After about 5 tries I was able to connect to Oman. There was a little lag in the vehicles, but I was glad to see that the "c" camera view was fixed. I tried to pilot one of the transport choppers, but I couldn't get it off the ground. Am I assuming right then, that you need the Heli skill to pilot the choppers? Or are the controls somehow different than BF2? Just curious.
Anyway, it was fun. I got to play maybe 5 or 6 games before switching over to Karkland
I managed to get on from around 5 mins of trying to get onto a server, its the same with karkand though. I thought that it was awsome, and was atonished as i did not have any lag and was able to pilot a chopper very easily, something strange did happen though, i got a kill as chopper gunner, and leveld all the way up to level 12, not that i mind though

The new map worked great. It was really fun. The controls work very similar to BF2, which some were not familiar with, he-he
I read that everybody were going to be givien the flying training for free, so I had not done that training ahead. Luckily my assault player were only at level 10, so I had 2 more beta levels left.
There were also some confusion if we had to exit and reconnect to get into the new map. I played most of the 3 hours at Karkland.
I really liked it,but we need more space for the jets,i experienced very much crashes and outside-the-map-countdown-suicides because the map was small for the jets.Maybe allowing more space in the sea will solve it.
It was very fun though,the teamwork that happened only sometimes at Karkand was always at Oman.I mean,i'm sure everyone who played at Oman had at least 1 or 2 team mates nearby them,or had fun jumping out of a full transport helicopter with all their team mates with the parachute.
Also,can someone answer this question for me?Can you invert the jet and chopper control?Because i was used to the Battlefield Heroes inverted plane control and other plane-war-based game that i also play.
well that was fun Oman is still going im amazed at the skill of some of the pilots in there. one guy got 30 kills with a jet and 1 death! wow.
good stuff guys I cant wait to spend my money on this and get some unique items and such!
