When I first heard of it I thought "Great another copy of Black Ops , or another game were we are going to have to pay massive ammounts of cash". I was quite wrong , Battlefield is quite eye catcher. The thing I love about it is

1) Vechicles - I mean c'mon how cool is that right?
2) Realistic combat - This isnt like BFH were you must shoot someone around 100 times to kill then - this take stratagy.
3) I like the classes - Brings diversity in the game

I player for at least 8 rounds , I came in 1st place on my third round with 23 kills 0 deaths. I really do love the game and I would not mind paying some money for better weapons. Though EA , i do have a couple recomendations.

1) Make the weps that cost real money more affordable. That way more people would play.

2) Please do not make people who payer for weapons unkillable like in BFH. ( I personaly buyer Uber weps in BFH )
3) Perhaps you can make kill streak awards like in Black Ops. Not copying them or anything , but perhaps with a kill streak of 5 people with a Machine Gun you get some frags. Or perhaps a better weapon until you die.

4) Once store is released make a diversity of weapons that can have Add Ons like scopes , silencers , etc

Other then that I am fully satisfied with this game , awesome game. And I LOVE it. Once my Alienware m11x gets here I shall dedicate massive ammounts of my time to it. Kudos to you EA , youve done it once again.

Doesn't Medal of Honor have killstreaks just like in Modern Warfare 2?

hit the nail on the head there. if those things were implemented which they wont. no one would buy medal of honour which ea and dice currently own but if that were to happen the prices of weapons would decrease significantly
*play for a while
Eh eh, this game is fun.
*punkbuster
Okay f*ck you.
ok saw the changes from the new patch and the reset and i can definitly say i rly liked that game... till NOW what the heck is wrong with you EA people?? all weapons force you to buy them again and again and if ur sick of that you are forced to pay real money for it. even worse it looks for the customises u cant buy clothes or anything without spending real money W T F are u really that greedy? i rly pity you for beeing that hard capitalistic -.- if anything changes i'll search another cool game to play i cant stand to support such rip-off.
WOW this game sucks in so many ways its undescribable... First it jitters like your soldiers body temp is below freezing, too much going on around the game and the quality of the shooting, aiming etc have been bypassed, really really need to fix these things otherwise this game wont last half a year before people get bored and go back to way better games.
wel i played, and hate it...
-not even close to bf2, laggy as hell
-slow motion gaming this is...bf2 play's much faster
-and what's with this tier thing..hate that to
connections losses, not able to seek a server, lag like hell...
ok it's free, but it will never be a bf2 replacement...
back to aix...the way bf2 was ment to be...
Fix the Horrible lag. Maybe I will buy something
HI ALL,
First impressios...?
b 4 the replacement of all chars (the days before 2/22/11) it felt like a beta/veryclosebeta....
nothing seems to work perfectly - thats why cb!! I expected nothing, but liked to be a participant.
Things changed a bit and improvements happend...fine!
What not happend: I am still not really convinced about the game/gameplay, unable to really judge cause all over still lagging (I´ve a fiberoptics highspeed VDSL 50.000 connection) in europe.
allways get killed, but hardly can kill others...frustrating...ok its not BfH... Smile, but hello seems to be no chance to achieve sth- here. So I really like to have a training option like in BfH to even get a feeling for the setting et cetera....and now EA even want to take money out of our pockets (who is willing to pay???) and those who really want to check things out ingame have not a slight chance doing it - bang! Headshot/Granade/Carkill whatever...no fun!!!
And after the restart: only 2 possible chars (rest to buy!!!) and some impovements...nice and 4 the rest??? Still get killed, cause of spawnkillers, lame connections and the unability to even check out how everything works (I only play BfH - so sorry 4 those "experts" who are that much skilled that I would be laughed at - new games should give also a chance to freshmen - or not?).
My impresson is that only players who have some (a lot) exp. in bf2 or similar games got a good time with this at the moment...I dont wanna spend money on it now, would be waisted and eaten up by lags and so called "pros"
have fun!! Smile
HI,
its laggy like hell in europe and one has nearly no chance to play the game without some knowledge of shootergames like cs or bf2 and others...I also recommend to put a trainig section into the game, so everybody could get a "feeling"....and does not feel to buy stuff in order to survive some minutes online!
Sure its a beta...but thats why we test it and give our arguments....
After playing a few hours before and after the reset my impression is that this is a stepchild game. It is not nearly as smooth as bc2 and never will be. The weapon price deal is not a issue as the weapons are not really that much better. What is an issue are the 2 character slots, connection problems, lag, game glitches etc. Yes it's beta, but you are now accepting real money, so now it's time for real progress. Remember BFH, the game stuck in beta making huge $$$$.

Pay if you want for bfp4f but I'll wait to see if it ever leaves beta.
Its a shame EA take now money!!! We´r testdummies and sould pay 4 it instead to get sth. in reward whilst fining bugs and faulty mess in this game...whow times changed....and the employee has to pay that he can work??? poor matters, poor EA!! I will spend no money until this has improved to game that give an curious gamer a small chance to check out how everything even works (and not get killed allways, cause of lags and other stuff)...so see u later EA
Yep - true, absolute true, we´r dummies Smile
But no one forces another to play or spend money...
Free world free BF...lol
sure u r right about that and it will be a good thing to have a testfield to check out and train before u go into the full game...on knows if it is then usefull to spend some BF or whatever on weapons etc. and ok. in a beta it is a sort of milking the customers to táke money for a testversion...EA, EA, only money counts Smile Not very fair, no go to spend BF 4 a sucking laggy game...

Yes that´s true Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin
I had a question: Do you need to play to get the medals for battlefield heroes?
i have seen some screen shots of some players and videos and the game dose not have a high graphic as i thought but i think its ok but they need to make the graphic more better..
EA what i would like you to add is able to use a grenade launcher on m16 since it has one (it would be awesome Dodgy)
(16-12-2010 06:02 PM)Eviction Wrote: [ -> ]1) Make the weps that cost real money more affordable. That way more people would play.

This and the constant lag are my only issues right now. Besides that I love the game and the vehicles (even though I always fly off the map with the jets and blow up in helicopters). A pricing system like BFH would be better. If I were to buy 1400 BF today I would only be able to get two "normal weapons" which I find is a bit of a rip off. Which is exactly why I might be a freeloader in this game and just wait for the Gun Club offer to return.

As for the lag I don't really know if you guys can fix it or if it's my computer/internet or the servers.

Edit: The post above reminded me. If you guys add the grenade launcher would it be an attachment, a whole other weapon, or in Tier 3.
what can i say but lag lag lag..is that an EA motto.
It is a campers dream though isnt it, once you work out the spawn points, park urself up and get some easy kills.
geeez why spawn me on the same campfire, time and time again.
Fun not..
i think you must be load a batter grapichs than now. if you load a better grapichs, this will the best free fps game
BATTLEFIELD PLAY4FREE FEEDBACK
I have been enjoying the Battlefield Play4Free beta for about a month now. During that time, there have been regular patches that have fixed / broke and then fixed some of the in-game issues and flaws. This is to be expected for a game that is in the BETA stage, so rather than spend time itemizing these issues, I am going to formulate my general thoughts around the game and note the specifics that I feel could be improved upon.

LACK OF IN-GAME SERVER BROWSER
This topic has been discussed ad nauseam in the BETA message forums. The crux of the issue is that many of us are experiencing significant issues with in-game lag. Being that there is currently no in-game connectivity (ping) monitor, finding a server that has good connectivity and delivers a solid gaming experience is like throwing darts. The "play now" feature assigns players to completely random servers with what seems like no filter being applied for geographic location. Likewise, it is difficult for a community to be rooted around this game if players are unable to align themselves with a particular server that is (geographically) nearby for good connectivity. Also, the Battlefield Play4Free team is working with official hosting providers so that the community can host ranked servers. As a game server admin, what is the fun in paying out of pocket to host a server if I cannot consistently connect to it for administration, and make it easy for my pals to connect as well? Teamwork is also something that is affected by this strategy, as it will be very difficult for users to frequent a well-administered servers that focus on team-play tactics and good communication.

COST STRUCTURE
EA is proposing that a user pay out-of-pocket for permanent upgrades to their character via "BattleFunds". These upgrades range from a nice new uniform to a sweet upgraded sniper rifle. While I am one of the few that is actually fine with this in concept, I do think that the actual cost structure for these upgrades should be re-evaluated. My argument would be to introduce a much greater variety of weapons and upgrades, and slash the cost of many of them. Introduce sales, 2-for-1's / etc.

TRAINING TIERS
One gripe I have had with the game since the beginning, is that the in-game character simply moves too slow. Since then, character training tiers have been enabled and increasing movement speed is one of the perks that can be leveled up. While this is a step in the right direction, it does put new players in the unfortunate situation of having a pretty lackluster gaming experience right out the gate. My anticipation is that some will become frustrated with the gameplay mechanics at level 1 and give up. My solution to this would be to offer all starting characters (at Level 1) 4 tier credits to distribute as they wish, and have movement speed be one of the options. This will get players introduced to the training section right out the gate, and help to relive some of these potential issues.

GENERAL FIT AND FINISH
There are a few issues with the overall presentation of the game that have been irking me. I am going to assume that some of these issues are being worked on behind the scenes, but will itemize them regardless.

Game Music
The guitar "BattleField" riff that is played between loading screens is atrocious. Consider mixing up some of the audio tracks and get some better production. Even recycled BF2 music is better than this.

Voiceovers
The recycled voices from the BF2 series are fine, but the new voice commands from the troops need a lot of work. Especially annoying in the planes. Briefly flying out of bounds and hearing that surfer dude talking about getting "lit up" is cringe worthy, especially after hearing it 500x over (why not an audible out-of-bounds beep or simple message). Enemy in my sights / Medic / Ammo / Repairs / Armor VO's. Need a lot of work here.

Stretching of graphics
Mild annoyance, but all 2d graphics get horizontally stretched for widescreen resolutions. Can they be placed at a fixed aspect ratio? Also, the sniper scope suffers severely from this. 3D scope would be a nice solution.

OTHER ITEMS
- VOIP Communication to be integrated?
- Ability to form fire-teams / squads would be nice, with spawning on squad leader
- Ability to request / add friends via the in-game interface
- "Play Now" and connecting to games in the current form is inconsistent at best
- Overall player stats (KDR, Rank, Achievements). I assume this is being worked on
- More maps, including more BF2 classics and favorites
- Loading screens are very bland "Loading Oman"

This pretty much summarizes my thoughts as of now. I really have been enjoying the game, and do feel that it is progressing in the right direction. However, in order to live up to its potential, some care will need to be given to add depth to the game play. Keeping it in the mindless shooter format will turn off the hardcore audience, which will result in just another novelty FPS.
