in my opinion they're awesome. when I first tried BFP4F I went straight to medic as first choice. for some reason I tend to do that in all games, not just BF-games O_o but anyway, as said it's all a matter of what suit you best. but if you loved it on BC2 then you should probably be able to enjoy it here too

Hmmm well for some odd reason I like to pick the classes most people don't. And when I started P4F closed beta, almost everyone had assault (like 10-12 per team). Then the next biggest seemed to be Recon (obviously since they can snipe). So I picked engineer first and then Medic. Recently I've seen more medics which is good. I think engineer is the least played kit though.

Well the most likely reason is because isn't a large enough quantity of vehicles for engineers to be important. For example in Karkand each team only gets 1 apc/tank a team. So all yuo need to takie it out is take 2/3 team mates and nade it to death. Sure a engie can kill it from afar with tracers and 4 rpgs, but it's usually a lot faster using nades.

well engineers can still be helpful already as it is, it's just that people doesn't seem to see their usefulness nor do they help the engineers in any way. not even with tracers or letting someone specced for driving a certain vehicle doing it to use it by its full potential.

about that, do anyone know if "Field Repair Vehicle" heal the one you're in yourself as well? O_o

I think field repair is the equivalent of the medivac ability. I think it's just like being an engineer in a vehicle in BF2 so it wouldn't repair you too :o

The problem I find on P4F with engineer, is that repairing can be difficult, becouse you're mostly killed by grenades; and some drivers don't really make your life easier lol I do think, however, that engineers can be important... if they stick to their "vehicle killing" and repairing role.

Oh and ZenosyX: I dont really know, sorry I rarely drive vehicles, so I haven't used that skill... If it faster than the repair tool thought, it could mean I have a new strategy to try and I also wonder if they give points for those repairs...

well it give points for repairing other vehicles, but I haven't tried it yet so I don't think it repair your own. if so then it should have a timelimit before it do to be sure that you're not repairing while in combat, stopping as soon as you take damage and not continue until you've been out of combat for X seconds. well... that's how I think it should work but meh... I don't think you'll be able to repair your own =/

engineers are awesome also in close/midrange combat with their main weapon but yeah, their lives can be quite exciting to say the least, and finding a good driver you want to protect can be vital. yesterday I was lucky, I found one driving a tank, I stood behind him repairing almost the entire round, running after him/taking cover when needed. but most of the time I just chilled behind him since he was a medic and healed people around him, and the tank shielded me from most fire and explosions ofc, that's not happening very often, most of the time people just ask for repairs and once you finally get close and start repairing they drive away as if you can do it even if they drive away from you O_o

it's as with most classes; it's easier and funnier with teamwork, harder but still possible without

Yeah the people in vehicles sometimes don't want to get repaired so they leave me out in the open

true true, healers can be mean too I covered behind a car asking for a medic. he come and heal me, all nice and smooth. then he take the car and drive away so I get oneshotted by a sniper I've tried to kill for a while v.v

but yeah, bet combo for vehicles is a medic driving and an engineer gunner or just hanging around. those heals on infantry around the vehicle do miracles for the engineer, the job become a cakewalk
